 The Los Angeles Lakers is a National Basketball Association(NBA). They joined the NBA in 1948 known as the Detroit Gems from 1948 to 1949 and then changed to Minneapolis Lakers for eleven years and then changed their it Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers home games are played at the Staples Centre. They are in the Western Conference.The current players for LA Lakers are Ron Artesr, Shannon Brown, Kobe Bryant, Andrew Bynum, Jordan Farmar, Derek Fisher, Pau Gasol, D.J Mbenga, Adam Morrison, Lamar Odom, Josh Powell, Sasha Vujacic and Luke Walton.

 The Lakers colours are a golden yellow, purple and white. They have home and away jersey’s. The home jersey is mainly yellow with a purple outline and the away jersey is mainly purple with a yellow out line. They have won 16 NBA championships (1949, 1950, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1972, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009) and 30 conference's titles ((1949, 1950, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1962, 1963, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1972, 1973, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2009).
